These locks are also known as Rim locks. This lock was a very simple drop-in replacement. I simply un-screwed the old lock. Removed the middle plat and the front lock itself. Once everything was removed, you have to follow the install instructions. Four screws later the retaining plate fitted onto my door. From the installation is a breeze. I opted to use my Old Godrej Strike plate as it is far sturdier and required no extra effort. I just had to adjust the position of the strike plate on the door frame, as the deadbolt is a little more spaced from the door.
