I have a 5 year old, and 3 year old boys, and 2, 1 year old twin girls.....yep we are busy lol. Anyway my 3 year old brute of a boy, eventually got fed up with me locking him out of the closet so he cant get into my goodies I keep in there along with my mini fridge. Long story short, he found all he had to do was push harder to break it. He broke both the same day :( Ordering the metal version now! I suggest anyone who is going to buy these, just buy the metal versions because these are too weak. They are more expensive(29.99 for 3) and you cant buy them individually. But to me its well worth having to chase the kids out of places constantly. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful It's OK., This does work, but it's not great for doors your going to want to open often. For a closet door that mostly stays closed, or a spare bedroom door maybe that doesn't get much traffic this will work fine. It doesn't slid real easy on the top of the door, and I didn't really like the fact that I had to drill into my door jam. Better than a hook lock though, in terms of that, but I bought the door monkey style door lock and it's turned out better for my bathroom door that gets opened like 1000 times a day (also it's more adjustable so I can move it from door to door, of from high to low for my four year old and still keep my one year old out). This lock is for adults only. I though I could put a string down for my oldest to be able to use it too, but it doesn't really work well like that. My three year old merely needed to push or pull the door hard enough and the sliding lock would stretch and pop right off of the top of the door. The best version of this goes by a different name. GlideLok Metal Door Top Safety Lock - 3 pack. Look that up on Amazon. The price is the same and it is a better product. I bought the plastic version first and regretted it. |
